I have a question and I can’t seem to get any answers. What if ANYTHING is being done about the feral cat issues in this town? I JUST sat in cat feces on my PORCH on my deck furniture. They also do their stuff in my potted plants, on my decks, in my yard and even on the roof of my garage! I DO NOT OWN A CAT. I do not allow my dogs out of my yard except to go to the vet or car rides.
Why is this issue not addressed? I’ve asked the health department, I’ve asked the sheriff’s department, I’ve talked to city council members. Yet here I am with cat feces all over my property and a huge yard we can’t even use.
We have had to take our dogs in MULTIPLE times from getting sick, being exposed to ill cats. We can’t let our grandchildren use our yard like normal kids because they get ringworm from the cats. There is no barefoot running through the sprinklers here, There is excessive hand sanitizer just to hopefully keep them from being ill!
Why should my FULLY VETTED dogs be exposed to feral animals in MY YARD no less? A property I paid for. I pay my taxes! I pay to vet my animals. I keep my yard maintained. How is it fair that we can’t USE our yard due to people wanting to feed stray cats and letting them propagate to the point it is beyond excessive?
Yes, I get it, everyone loves a cute lil cat. THIS IS NOT CUTE. People are infringing on OUR rights so they can maintain this situation.
Would it not make more sense if they took the animals OUT of the town and maybe set up cat houses and fed them OUT of the town so people could actually USE their property? Or let them loose as farm cats to keep mice out of the fields?
To say I am angry is a very understated comment. I’m LIVID I’m livid to the point I hate my home because of STRAY CATS. I have thought about abandoning this home because of the situation. What if ANYTHING does the town plan to do about this situation?
I moved here in good faith, thinking this would be a nice little town to live in. I shop locally. I do things to further my community and try to help people.
I now need help! I need to be represented and I need my voice to be heard. Clearly, I cannot be the only one with issues as a result of the stray cats!
This post will also be submitted to my local sheriff department and our local newspaper! Hopefully, with more exposure, SOMEONE will be able and willing to help us. I don’t hate the cats, I don’t hate the people who I believe are with good intentions are feeding the cats. I am frustrated that I can’t use my yard, my decks or even sit on my furniture!
